TREASURY Cabinet Secretary  Henry Rotich and his PS Kamau Thugge have  surrendered to the Director of Criminal Investigations moments  after Director of Public Prosecutions  Noordin Haji ordered their arrests  over the Kimwarer and Arror dams scandal.

Mr Rotich and Mr Thugge are among the 28 people and entities implicated in the Sh21 billion scandal.

Those mentioned are accused of offences, including conspiracy to defraud and the abuse of office.

They are also accused of failure to comply with applicable procedures and guidelines relating to procurement.

Meanwhile President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to announce an acting Treasury Cabinet Secretary later today.

The President is also expected to name an acting Treasury PS in line with his declaration during the State of the Nation address in April. It is expected that the President will name an acting CS from within his Cabinet as nominating one from outside would require that he seeks Parliament’s approval.
